a) Teacher reads: NTI will hold an election Dec. 8, 2014 to elect a Vice-President.

b) Students review what they’ve learned from the Unit plans and reflect on the following questions:

• What is the NLCA?
• Why is the NLCA important to Inuit?
• What is NTI?
• What social issues could motivate young Inuit between 16 and 25 years of age? (e.g. health care, suicide, education, employment, housing, alcohol and drug abuse)
• How does voting in NTI Elections affect your future?
• How does voting in NTI Elections affect your community? Your territory?
• Is voting important? Why or why not?
• What would life be like without democracy?
• How important is it for you to live in a democratic society?
• What are some issues that politicians need to focus on in the NTI Elections?
• What suggestions can you make to NTI to help encourage youth to vote?

L’enseignant commence le cours avec une brève discussion afin d’orienter la réflexion des élèves avant de lancer le projet de message d’intérêt public.

• Est-il important de voter? Si oui, pourquoi? Si non, pourquoi?
• À quoi ressemblerait la vie sans démocratie?
• À quel point est-ce important pour vous de vivre en démocratie?
• Sur quels enjeux les politiciens doivent-ils se pencher dans le cadre des élections à la NTI?
